Erin Wills focuses her practice on the procurement of patent rights, including in the materials science, chemical, and mechanical engineering areas. Ms. Wills’ experience encompasses opinion work, patent portfolio management, and preparation and prosecution of utility and design patent applications. She has prepared and prosecuted patent applications relating to materials science, chemistry, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, telecommunications, computer networking, and computer hardware/software technology.
Ms. Wills earned a B.S. degree in Materials Science and Engineering, cum laude, from North Carolina State University, and a Master’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Virginia. Ms. Wills earned her J.D., summa cum laude, from North Carolina Central University School of Law. Additionally, Ms. Wills has clerked for two U.S. District Court Judges in the Eastern and Western Districts of North Carolina. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Wills worked as an engineer in the nuclear products and semiconductor device industries.
